What Are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are individual strands of synthetic fibers made to replicate a natural eyelash. When applied, eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken your own natural eyelashes. The single strands or fans are applied to each individual eyelash, one by one. With proper application, lash extensions look and feel completely natural.
How long will a set of Eyelash Extensions last?
When applied by one of our professionals, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your own eyelashes. Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, refills should only be required every 2 to 3 weeks.
Are EyeCrave Lash + Beauty Lashes safe?
EyeCrave Lash + Beauty only uses professional grade adhesive which never comes in contact with your skin. Synthetic eyelashes adhere about 1mm away from your skin.
Can I apply mascara to Eyelash Extensions?
Our eyelash extensions are designed to give your natural lashes an improved look of fullness so mascara is not needed. However, we do offer a water-based mascara in our EyeCrave Lash + Beauty salon for those who feel the need especially nearing time for the next refill.
Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?
We do ask you to minimize the chance of wetting the extensions for the first 24 hours of wear. After that 24-hour period, the adhesive used to apply your eyelash extensions is secure enough to allow you to get right back to your routine. However, keeping away from extensive contact with steam such as in saunas or certain facials is recommended since it can begin to loosen the bond.
How soon can I wash my face after the extensions are applied?
The suggested time frame is 24 hours. For a guest with sensitivities, it is suggested to wash within the first 12 hours of application. Of course, it is always suggested to use our Prolong Lash Cleanser.
How do I dry my eyelash extensions?
After cleansing your eyelashes, brush your extensions with a clean mascara wand and use a lint-free cloth to gently apply pressure to the top of your extensions while keeping your eyes closed. An even gentler option after brushing is to air dry your extensions using before brushing. After drying, don’t forget to brush again with a clean mascara wand.
How do I take care of my new eyelash extensions?
- Avoid getting lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours
- Avoid hot steam or sauna
- Use Prolong Lash Cleanser and Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water to remove any eye makeup and cleanse eyelashes.
- Do not perm eyelashes or manually curl.
- Brush with a clean mascara wand daily.
- TIP: Sometimes mornings are a mess! Try washing your lashes in the morning and gently brushing the top side of the extensions with a finger placed beneath. If too much tugging is noticed, a quick stop at your local studio may be necessary to help separate these extensions.
Is the product FDA approved? Is it safe?
Currently, the FDA is not regulating eyelash extensions because the eyelash extensions are applied to the natural eyelash hairs and do not touch the skin. The application process is pain-free. Some clients consider the process relaxing and even sleep through the appointment.
How long will it take to apply eyelash extensions and how is it done?
The application process for lash extensions normally takes about 90-120 minutes for a full set of lashes and 45-60 minutes for a refill. You will lay comfortably on a massage table with your eyes closed while relaxing ambient music is played in the background. During application, your lower lashes will be covered and the extensions will be applied only to your upper lashes one at a time.
How do I choose the look I want?
Your technician will consult with you to understand what type of style you are interested in and what look will work best with your natural lashes. The overall look of the lashes can range from very natural to very voluminous!
Do I have to do anything to prepare for the service?
To remove any eye makeup, use our Prolong Lash Cleanser and Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water prior to the appointment as well to remove any leftover mascara. Right before the appointment you may be asked to cleanse your lashes with a mild cleanser to remove any leftover oils. Lashes should not be permed or manually curled at the time of appointment.
What happens if I choose to have my eyelash extensions removed?
We do offer a service to have the extensions removed involving a short thirty-minute appointment in which we apply a gel remover. The gel remover is applied on top of the extensions without touching the skin and allowed to sit for 10 minutes. Once the adhesive is dissolved the extensions are gently wiped away with lint free applicators exposing the natural lashes.
Do eyelash extensions hurt?
Eyelash extensions should not hurt when applied correctly. They are applied with professional tools by isolating one lash, and adhering one extension to your natural lash for classic lashes or fans for volume lashes. An under eye gel pad/ tape is placed over the bottom lash line to prevent discomfort and aid in application. It is important to go to a trusted Lash Artist who is certified through a reputable course as this will ensure that they are applying the correct weight and length of lashes to your natural lash.
Do eyelash extensions look fake?
Eyelash extensions can be applied to look anyway that you desire. Most reputable lash artists will be able to give you your desired look or very similar. You can choose to have shorter natural lashes, large dramatic lashes, etc. Typically speaking, eyelash extensions don’t look fake unless that is the look that you are going for.
How long do eyelash extensions last?
Most eyelash extension adhesives have a bond time of anywhere from 4-8 weeks. However, they will only last as long as your natural lash does. Like all hair on the human body, your eyelashes grow in stages. It is normal to lose 1-4 natural lashes per day which is why a fill is recommended every 2-3 weeks.
How much do eyelash extensions cost?
At EyeCrave Lash + Beauty, our semi-permanent eyelash extensions range from $130 for our most natural classic set to $300 for our Russian Volume set.
